We are starting a new SAG film in just a few weeks about the tragic Shooting of Amish school girls. The movie is based on the true story of the event and we are trying to cast background and featured background that are as true to life as possible.
I have already posted a post with pictures of real Amish men and women. Amish men start growing their beards when they get married. When the are then married, they do not cut their beards, but they do shave their mustaches. We are looking for men with this style, or willing to shave their mustaches to show this style.
Women also do not cut their hair (ever) and of course do not have bangs, nor do they highlight or dye their hair. We are looking for women that have long hair (at least to around the shoulder) and with natural colored hair, and no bangs. Women are asked to take out their earrings and wear no nail polish.
We are also looking for men who have experience driving buggies. If this is you definitley call us in the office.
Now we do know that not many men have this look, there are options in terms of fake beards and so forth, and if you have the right look we can still consider you for these Amish parts. The Amish parts most likely will have a fitting and work over and over in the show. There is 16 days of shooting, and most likely most of those will have Amish roles in them. There is a high likelyhood of getting several days of work.
